As the First Judicial District Attorney, she is dedicated to ensuring public safety, seeking justice for victims, and implementing forward-thinking policies that serve the communities of Santa Fe, Los Alamos, and Rio Arriba Counties.
A proud graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law, Mary has spent her career protecting the people of the First Judicial District.
Before being elected District Attorney, she gained invaluable experience as both a public defender and a Deputy District Attorney, giving her a comprehensive understanding of the legal system from multiple perspectives.

Her community involvement includes service on the board of Planned Parenthood, as well as her previous work as a legal advocate for survivors of sexual assault.

Mary lives in Santa Fe with her wife, Jo, a retired law enforcement officer, and their two energetic young children. Her family and community are at the heart of her commitment to public service and to making Northern New Mexico a safer place for every family.
