District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies’ misdemeanor DWI policy has been nothing short of a stunning success. And now, after manually sifting through every misdemeanor DWI case over the span of six years (2018-2023), the FJDA can confidently say that the data supports the policy. This internal breakthrough was the result of painstaking data mining because true statistics for DWI prosecution and conviction rates have not been tracked by previous FJDA administrations.
