Prosecution
Represent the State of New Mexico, evaluate cases, work with victims and law enforcement, advocate in court, and seek just outcomes.
Legal Support
Support attorneys and cases through document management, case preparation, scheduling, organization, and courtroom preparation.
Investigations
Work with prosecutors, law enforcement, witnesses, evidence, and case preparation in support of criminal prosecutions.
Victim Advocacy
Help victims understand the criminal justice process, access resources, receive case information, and have their voices heard.

The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office is currently seeking organized, motivated, and service-minded professionals to join our Legal Support team. Two opportunities are currently available in the First Judicial District.
Legal Assistant
Join our Santa Fe team and help support prosecutors, victims, law enforcement partners, and the court system while serving the people of Santa Fe County.
Legal Assistant
Join our Española team and help support prosecutors, victims, law enforcement partners, and the court system while serving the people of Rio Arriba County.

Legal Assistants are an essential part of our prosecution team. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, interested in the criminal justice system, and committed to public service.
- ✓ Support prosecutors with case preparation, legal documents, court hearings, trials, and deadlines.
- ✓ Organize and maintain criminal case files with accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality.
- ✓ Communicate professionally with victims, witnesses, law enforcement, attorneys, court personnel, and members of the public.
- ✓ Bring strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- ✓ Have an interest in criminal justice and public service and a commitment to serving your community.
