State v. Frankie Marquez

Santa Fe, N.M. – October 2, 2025 – Today, following a four-day trial, a Santa Fe County jury convicted Frankie Marquez (Case No. D-101-CR-2021-00238) on two counts of Criminal Sexual Penetration in the First Degree of a Child Under 13 and one count of Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor in the Second Degree.

The FJDA commends the bravery of the victim, who courageously disclosed the abuse to her mother, allowing her mother to report the crime to authorities. “Convictions in cases of this nature depend on the courage of survivors who come forward,” said Deputy District Attorney Haley W. Murphy. “We commend the victim’s strength and perseverance throughout this challenging process.”

The FJDA extends gratitude to sexual assault, forensic DNA professionals, and the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office for their work and testimony that helped secure this conviction.
